Clinical Assessment Overview (APEP)

The Clinical Assessment is the final stage of the Standard Assessment Pathway, now operating under the APEP format (Australian Physiotherapy Entry Pathway) since October 2025. It consists of two parts: an online Capability Assessment via video call, and an in-person Clinical Workshop at the Melbourne Simulation Lab.

1. Capability Assessment (Online)

An oral examination conducted via video call. You can take this from your home country - no travel to Australia required for this component.

Preparation Requirements

Essential Requirements

Professional Indemnity Insurance
Minimum $5 million coverage. Most candidates get free insurance through Australian Physiotherapy Association membership.

Special Circumstances

Pregnancy Considerations
If you are under 34 weeks pregnant, you must provide a medical practitioner's letter (dated no earlier than 1 week before assessment) confirming you are physically and medically fit to undertake the Clinical Assessments.
